Komentaryos/Notes
This domain is based on speech from Eliezer Bivas, a speaker from Istanbul. It was edited by Rachel Bortnick (Izmir).
To turn on: ensender and asender are both ways to say this.
ensender is more common in Izmir.
asender is more common in Istanbul.
Oil: azeyte and alzeyte are both ways to say this.
azeyte is more common in Istanbul.
alzeyte is more common in Izmir.
If there's a la before it, many speakers would both pronounce and write it l'azeyte.
Word order. Both of the following sentences are well-formed:
Meto en la tavá azeyte/alzeyte.
Meto azeyte/alzeyte en la tavá.
In Ladino, have the option of putting the direct object (azeyte/alzeyte 'the oil') before or after the prepositional phrase (en la tavá 'in the pan').
