El Mupak / La Kuzina

A great place to start a home language nest is the kitchen (el mupak/la kuzina*). Kitchens are places where we do well-defined daily activities that you can start learning to do in Ladino, and they are also often the heart of the home! (And we all love to eat.)

*Mupak and kuzina are both ways to say "kitchen" in Ladino. Mupak comes from the Turkish word mutfak, and it's most commonly used in Istanbul. Many other varieties of Ladino, including in other parts of Turkey, use kuzina.
